*Untouchability still in India – main reason*
The higher class community marginalised/deprived the lower caste community on the basis of caste, creed, race, religion, dissent and deprived them from the basic human rights is called Untouchability.
Untouchability cannot be perceived until one itself don’t go through it.
It is unfortunate that constitution maker Dr. B.R. Ambedkar also faced this evil.
Untouchability directly defies a large population of India as out of circle.
Untouchability was the reason behind Battle of Bhima Koregao, and the same is behind the cutting thumb of Eklavya.
British raised some concern about the evils in Indian society but later they used it as weapon to divide and rule only.
Constitution hammered remaining evils of Indian society.
Article 17, untouchability is prohibited and it is for citizen of India as well as foreigner without any reasonable grounds. This itself shows that how serious concern was about untouchability while making constitution.
*Untouchability at present*
Untouchability exist still but everyday bypassing the law. Or say the severity of untouchability lowered in the presence of law.
In decreasing of severity of untouchability *money* and *transportation* played a applauseful role. As money cannot be denied by lower or higher caste man. Transportations in buses and trains couldnt make distance between any person, could not sanitise every seat or money.
*Reason behind existence*
* Untouchability practices from vedic age or before that till now. Approx 3500 years of practicing untouchability cannot be perished easily in one go.
*And until collectively no one tried to eradicate the untouchability and discrimination.
*Hinduism’s misinterpretations light up the castism more.
*Still many happily accept the inferiority under higher caste as their fate.
*Educated class looking after their own future and childrens, and keeping themselves unaware about the people getting discriminated.
*Caste politics,
admiring fake valor etc.
*Untouchability – conclusion*
Education has the power to eradicate untouchability, not literacy.
Having scientific temper and faith in constitution can make some positive difference and treat a human as human rather inhumane.
Kabir says ” _maati kahe kumhar se tu kya ronde mohe, ek din esa aayega main rondugi tohe_ ” means human had ego of being superior, but one day everyone has to mix into the soil.
